Data Acquisition from Bedside Monitoring Equipment
Problem Overview
Information from neo-natal monitoring devices that are recording physiological
and environmental information needs to be collected centrally so
that nurses can obtain real-time reports for each neo-natal in their
care, instead of spending time manually charting them.
 Solution
By relaying information to a central server application, data can be
converted automatically into recognizable graphs, charts and figures.
Perle UltraPort SI Serial Cards installed
in a central Windows or Linux based server collects information from
the medical recording devices. The application residing on the server,
process the information and creates real-time reports for each neo-natal
station. This single card can handle both EIA-232 and EIA-422 serial
interface devices.
