INSTALLATION MEDIA FILES FOR JETSTREAM RANGE V2.6.1.G.B001 July 2003 ============================================================================== Please read the release notes before attempting to install this product. PRODUCTION RELEASE STATUS ========================= This release is intended to be scheduled into Jetstream unit production. CONTENTS ======== This release contains the Version 2.6.1 of the Jetstream firmware. Please read the product release notes for a description of features, enhancements and bug fixes for this version. You should only upgrade to this version of firmware if your product was not shipped with this version AND you require to use one or more of its features. INSTALLATION ============ Firmware version 2.6.1 should only be upgraded from previous versions by using the JETLOAD/JETLOAD32 utility. FEATURES AND BUGS FIXED IN THIS RELEASE ======================================= Version 2.6.1 ============== The following describe the issues that were resolved in this release: - The unit may not respond on the Ethernet interface after a LAN error condition occurs. - The second print job for a serial port busy printing would receive an error. - Under some conditions, the Jetstream would not allow a "rev raw" connection to a serial port. - Key mapping of terminal emulation for vt100 not functioning properly. - Unit may lock up if too many telnet session are opened. - Characters may be lost with 2400 bps modem on a serial port.Data does not always print to the correct port when printing to two ports at the same time. - Terminal definitions "term1", "term2" or "term3" would not be retained after a power cycle of the Jetstream if DHCP was not enabled on the unit. - The unit would freeze if subjected to the "LAND" security test. - If a browser accessed the Jetstream by mistake (request was not intended for this server), depending on the contents of the request, the unit may reset. - Fixes an issue which caused characters to be echoed on the terminal when the service type was set to "Silent Telnet" or "Direct Telnet" - When using the "custom language" feature, the login prompt/screen (OEM1 field) was incorrectly being truncated to 14 characters. Version 2.6.0 ============== The following describe the issues that were resolved and features that are included in this release: ·Ability to configure the speed on the Ethernet RJ45 Interface (auto (default), 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps) ·HTML configurator features included a logout option, telnet menu and configurable options, handling of line configuration through new NEXT and PREV button options. Also added DHCP, security and ip host fields to the HTML configurator ·Additional cli commands include show telnet line * and displays telnet option in a tabular format, set Ethernet speed to select the specific Ethernet interface speed ·Menu screens added telnet option in the line configuration menu screen and added the configurable telnet options to the telnet menu screen Issues Resolved within this Release ·Fixed HTML problem with displaying/modifiying ports/lines because too many pulldowns are defined for higher port density units: 4 lines per page is now displayed ·Fixed radius session ID being saved/displayed incorrectly ·Fixed break signal problem where subsequent break signals will not work ·Fixed resetting all fields to defaults for line, ppp, and telnet parameters ·Fixed partial command recognition and chained commands for ethernet options ·Fixed extra line feed for telnet admin sessions placing cursor one line below desired selection on entry ·Fixed problem where line port, ppp, slip, telnet settings are changed, but the user presses ESC to abort changes, but the changes are saved anyways. This affects the "copy" feature. ·Fixed PPP callback non-con from CS9000 where previously, if a user name/password is defined in the port settings, fixed or roaming callback was not allowed. ·Fixes for internal non-conformances for Screen/Menu field and error messages ·Fixes for internal non-conformances for HTML field and error messages ·Fixed ethernet non-con where 10/100 FEAST units do not connect 10M LAN properly after switching from 100M, despite showing link status. This may be related to connecting/disconnecting cabling and being able to get the unit back onto the LAN. ·When using the "custom language" feature, the login prompt/screen (OEM1 field) was incorrectly being truncated to 14 characters ·Fixed issue when a line is configured for direct telnet all characters entered on the display are echoed immediately. When you press enter all characters entered before are echoed again. ·Fixed issue when a user would download terminal definitions to the unit and they would work until the unit was powered off/on. ·Unit would crash after having the "LAND" attack test run on it. ·When printing to two ports at the same time, the data from one port would periodically cross over to the other port. Version 2.5.1 ============== Engineering Add 10/100 FEAST ethernet device support. Code is now compressed to fit within flash limitations and decompresses during bootup. Engineering Add 8 & 16Mbyte DRAM hardware option support The following issues have been fixed in this release: 2.4.1 T2 allow devices not powered up to flush the write queue and close after host is rebooted 2.4.1.T3 Nmap utility causes the Jetstream to refuse subsequent connection requests 2.4.1 T4 Baud rate timing is off and some devices do not work - reworked solution 2.4.1 T5 Excessive noise on the serial line caused serial port to appear locked up 2.4.1 T6 SNMP cert fixes 2.4.1 T7 large number of print jobs sent to Jetstream printer stops telnet traffic to/from the Jetstream 2.4.1 T8 sessions fail to connect to host and error displayed si "0: bad port number" 2.4.1 T9 PPP with Radius authentication crashes the box 2.4.1 T10 When RIP is disabled, static route entries are not updated in the JS8500 routing table 2.4.1 T14 application was unable to receive large data packets at 4800
