Resolves
several 494E controller issues.

The
information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMS
- The
494 Controller will occasionally lock up with
software errors 720||17 FF3900 or 720||17
FF40504 on the front panel when the AS/400
subsystems are brought down and back up again,
while performing AS/400 backups.
- OS/2
Client Access file transfer fails when transferring
from AS/400 to the PC. DOS Client Access works
OK.
- While
printing to an IBM IPDS 4224 printer the 494E
will frequently send an outstanding status
of signal type (C9 00 03 02 33), to the host
which requires the user to respond to a message
to continue printing.

Clicking mouse button on some EUI applications
would cause the 494E to lock up.
- Screen
updates on some AS/400 applications would
cause screen flickering on ECB displays.
- Cursor
would not change position when moving from
one screen to the next.
- 494E
would occasionally reporte 720|| 16 F6B400
on front panel when configured for MPTN over
Frame Relay.
- 494E
locked up when trying to bring up SNA over
Frame Relay controller. AS/400 was repeatedly
sending NULL XIDs.
RESOLUTION
Engineering
has recognised these problems and has provided
the following upgrade to resolve these particular
issues.
