RIO
software would not install with PCI cards installed
in a system running Solaris 7 or higher.

The
information in this article applies to:
- RIO
for Solaris x86 version 7 and higher.
SYMPTOMS
System
would freeze when installing the RIO software
if a RIO PCI card was installed. The system
would have no keyboard or mouse control.
OR
If
the software was installed without the RIO PCI
card installed, then the system would not boot
if the PCI card was installed later. Again the
system would freeze with no keyboard or mouse
control.
RESOLUTION
Engineering
has recognised the problem and has provided
the following driver upgrade to resolve the
issue. To update the RIO driver for Solaris
please see the installation procedure in the
RIO
