---------------------------------------------------- Installing Perle Serial cards into Caldera Open Unix 8 systems ---------------------------------------------------- Products affected - RIO, SX, Speed, IO8 and At/PCI Fast 22 May 2002 This readme should be used in conjunction with the appropriate manual for each product. Open Unix 8 is the follow on release from SCO UnixWare 7 and as such operates in very similar ways. It may also be necessary to refer to any UnixWare release notes for the product. For drivers please use Perle CD that came wit the product or download the appropriate products Unixware 7 driver form the Perle website. Steps: Using CD Mount CD (this note assumes it has been mounted at /mnt) Run pkgadd - pkgadd -d /mnt/drivers/product/unixware/filename (where product = product name i.e. SX and filename = install package filename) - follow install instructions - reboot system Using Floppy Transfer file to floppy using copydisk ( available on Perle web) Run pkgadd - pkgadd -d /dev/dsk/f0t all - follow install instructions - reboot system For ISA cards run DCU to configure IRQ's and address' Reboot system Configure ports (for AT/PCI-Fast cards use pmadm utility) (for RIO use spxadmport utility which is available from the Perle web site) Run GUI Scoadmin - Select 'Hardware' - Select 'Serial Manager' - Select 'View' and choose boards - Select the board you wish to configure - Select 'View' and choose ports - Ports can now be selected and modified ********************** * End Readme * **********************
