Perle Systems Releases Solaris SPARC Driver for Perle UltraPort Cards
New Driver Shows Perle’s Commitment to Best-of-Breed Connectivity Solutions
NASHVILLE, TN - December 12, 2006 — Perle Systems announced today that their best selling UltraPort Serial Cards now support SUN Microsystems’ Solaris SPARC operating system through the release of a new driver. This new driver will operate for both 32 and 64 bit versions of Sun’s Solaris/SPARC line of products. The Perle UltraPort Universal 3.3v/5v PCI and PCI-X serial cards are the most advanced fixed port serial card solution on the market today. With 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 serial ports Perle UltraPort cards communicate at bi-directional speeds up to 921.6 Kbps per port, and offer the highest standard of surge protection available, ensuring the reliability and security of data. Perle accommodates a diverse user base by providing a reliable, cost effective and flexible range of serial to Ethernet solutions. Retail point of sale, data acquisition, office automation, and advanced kiosk design are among the applications that rely on Perle serial cards.
