IOLAN Secure Terminal Servers are validated to meet FIPS 140-2 standard for encrypted protection of serial data sent and received on a network.
NASHVILLE, TN—March 10th, 2011— Perle Systems, a global provider of advanced serial to Ethernet and secure device networking solutions, today announced that all Secure IOLAN Terminal Servers are FIPS 140-2 Validated. Terminal Servers are used to easily connect devices with RS232, RS422 or RS485 serial interfaces to Ethernet LANs for access to network server applications.
Any governmental agency in the USA or Canada that needs to encrypt data is required, by legislative restriction, to do so with a FIPS 140-2 Validated product. FIPS 140-2 compliant Secure IOLAN Terminal Servers use services like SSL, HTTPS and SSH for the secure encryption of serial data sent and received on a network.
“In today’s security conscious environment, federal agencies, and private industries like healthcare and finance, rely on FIPS 140-2 certified products meet their legal requirement of ensuring sensitive data is protected,” says Julie McDaniel, VP Marketing at Perle Systems. “Perle has over 85 different Secure Terminal Servers to meet the serial to Ethernet connectivity needs of customers who require FIPS 140-2 certification.”
