Serial Data Logging

Interruptions during raw TCP/IP sessions between a serial to Ethernet adapter and its remote counterpart such as a software application or another serial to Ethernet adapter peer can occur, causing loss of data or serial protocol integrity problems.

In order to eliminate this problem, Perle has added a configurable Data Logging feature for raw TCP sessions to the IOLAN serial to Ethernet device servers.

Perle Data Logging stores serial data received from attached serial equipment when there is no active TCP session and forwards it once the TCP/IP session has been re-established. No data is lost and protocol integrity is maintained.

Data can be stored in a circular buffer of 1-2000K bytes for compact desktop models: IOLAN DG1, IOLAN TG2, IOLAN DS1, IOLAN TS2, and IOLAN STS8D.

Data can be stored in a circular buffer of 1-4000K bytes for compact desktop models: IOLAN SDG, IOLAN STG, IOLAN SDS, IOLAN STS4 D, and IOLAN STS4 P.

Data can be stored in a circular buffer of 1-4000K bytes per port for all 1U rackmount models: IOLAN SCR, IOLAN SCG, IOLAN SDG, IOLAN STG, IOLAN STS, IOLAN SDS, and IOLAN SCS.
