Perle Systems Serial Cards Certified for Windows Server 2008

NASHVILLE, TN - June 2, 2008 — Perle Systems, the global developer and manufacturer of serial to Ethernet connectivity solutions today announced Windows 2008 certification for their well known Serial Cards. Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008, is the next generation platform for running business-critical applications. Released February 27 2008, Windows Server 2008 is the most recent release of Microsoft Windows' server line of operating systems. It is the successor of Windows Server 2003 and is built on the Windows NT 6.0 kernel, as is Windows Vista. Most editions of Windows Server 2008 are available in 64-bit and 32-bit versions. In May 2007, Microsoft announced that Windows Server 2008 would be the last 32-bit operating system they would produce.

“Perle Systems offers support for the widest range of operating systems. ” comments Julie McDaniel, Vice President Marketing, Perle Systems. She continues,”Our users can be confident that our full line of serial cards will operate on Microsoft’s latest, Windows Server 2008. This certification and such early adoption to a new standard in operating systems demonstrates Perle’s commitment to being the leader in offering technologically advanced serial to Ethernet solutions.”

Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 Certification of products is granted after passing a series of rigorous testing. Once a product is certified the company earns the right to use the highly respected Microsoft Windows Server 2008 logo. The use of this logo is proof that a product or solution has met the stringent criteria set out by Microsoft indicating reliability and technical excellence. Companies use this logo as a competitive differentiator and Microsoft Certification is often considered a ‘must have’ for buyers before purchasing solutions and components.

Perle’s extensive line of serial cards are used to connect serial devices to a PC server in a broad range of solutions for retail point of sale, data acquisition, office automation, advanced kiosk design and much more. They support all major operating systems including Windows, Vista, Linux, Solaris, SPARC as well as SCO and are available from 1-512 port count.
