A Perle Ethernet to Fiber Media Converter can extend data transmission distances to 120Km over fiber optic cabling
NASHVILLE, TN—June 24, 2010— Perle is pleased to announce Ethernet to Fiber Media Converters with 120Km operating distance support.
Copper-based Ethernet connections are limited to a data transmission distance of only 100 meters when using unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable. By using a Perle Ethernet to Fiber Media Converter, fiber optic cabling can now be used to extend this link up to 120Km.
“Perle has been providing high quality network connectivity solutions since 1976,” said John Feeney, COO of Perle Systems. “The continued expansion of our full-featured Media converter line is a testimonial to our corporate strength and full service commitment to our large customer base around the world.”
Perle’s Media Converter line includes an extensive choice of full-featured solutions to connect 10BaseT, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet to fiber. With the use of high-end components Perle guarantees complete user satisfaction through a Lifetime Warranty. And, all Perle Media Converters have an on-board microcontroller which deals with error detection and recovery.
